Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

  • Q: Is HollyHug WTK really free? When or will I see a nag screen?
  • A: HollyHug Windows Tool Kit is absolutely free. You will never see a single nag screen, I promise!
  • Q: If HollyHug is completely free, how do you support its development?
  • A: There is one overriding factor that keeps me developing HollyHug. This is the realization that no Windows OS will ever get rid of all of the quirks I see in desktop (or mobile) computing. I will continue to work on HollyHug so long as there are inadequacies in software which I believe I can overcome as a third-party developer. Because HollyHug is developed by me for my own, personal use, it will continue to be maintained and developed until the currently-unforseeable point where Microsoft makes Windows a 100-percent-perfect product.
  • Q: OK, I'm interested. But, one more thing, do you accept bug or support requests for HollyHug?
  • A: As you might suggest, a free piece of software only receives so much support. I am taking a heavily-bugfix-oriented support stance with HollyHug. I will try and deal with support requests in which detailed bug reports can be provided. As you may suspect, then, I won't provide any "hand-holding" support for HollyHug (unless you want to pay me for it), but bug reports with historical and issue detail are gladly taken, investigated, and (if verified) fixed. Furthermore, if you have a *really* great idea for something to add, I'll at least give it the once-over consideration (if, of course, that is, I don't decide to add it, which I might!)
